David price and the Tigers agreed to a record high arbitration deal of 19.75 million dollars. This blew away the previous record also payed out by the Tigers last year of 15 million to current Free agent Max Scherzer. Price is coming off a slow start to his Tiger career. Price finished the year 15-12 with a 3.26 ERA between the Rays and Tigers. But after coming to the Tigers Price was average at best going 4-4 with a 3.59 ERA. Not horrible in any stretch of the imagination but not what the Tigers had hoped for from a player who was 11-8 with a 3.11 ERA with the Rays. The Tigers needed him to be at his best down the stretch and he certainly was not that. So it will be interesting to see how he does in his first full year in Detroit.
