CHELSEA V MANCHESTER CITY PREVIEW

Kick-off: 5.30

Previous Match:

The last match against City was the 1-1 draw at the Etihad. The point saw us go 3 points clear at the top of the table but put an end to our 100% winning start to the season. Andre Schurrle put us 1-0 up then Frank Lampard, our highest ever goalscorer came on and scored an equaliser against us. Will never forget the pain of that one.

Chelsea:

We are currently 5 points clear of Manchester City and a win tonight would see us move 8 ahead. Although thats not necessarily the season over I would like to think that we wouldn’t lose that sort of lead, again. A point wouldn’t necessarily be bad as it means we keep our 5 point gap but a loss just cannot happen. Of course we all know that Diego Costa will not be involved as he has been suspended by the hypocrites at the FA. Despite going on about the corruptness of FIFA, they seem to be doing a good job at being corrupt themselves. They should seriously consider getting into a court of law, because they seem to be able to prove things that can’t be proven. Without a press conference, and rightly so why should we give the press anything after what they’ve done to us, we do not really know the state of any injuries. Fabregas has some sort of hamstring injury and its looking like he won’t be involved, Filipe Luis is out with a calf injury, Mikel did have a head injury and I am not sure where he is in that recovery and Ivanovic had a foot injury but it looks like he will be alright to play. Also with Schurrle and Salah having reportedly agreed deals away, they won’t be involved, so it looks like there may be some youth on our bench. With Fabregas and Costa not involved I am not sure how this is going to go. I hope that we rally together as a club and shove the treatment of the press and the FA back into their faces and get a great win. The only questions over the lineup is who starts up front and next to Matic in midfield. I would like to see Remy start up top because of his pace and Ramires to start in midfield after his excellent performance against Liverpool. However I fully expect Mourinho to play it safe with Mikel in midfield and the experience of Drogba up front. Here is my lineup for the match:

Courtois – Ivanovic – Cahill – Terry – Azpilicueta – Matic – Ramires – Willian – Oscar – Hazard – Remy

Manchester City:

City are missing Yaya Toure and new signing Wilfried Bony through African Cup of Nations duty. Toure is a huge miss for City who haven’t won an away game without him since April 2013. Nasri and Mangala also look to be missing through injury. One boost to City is that Aguero has recently returned from injury and he has not scored in his last 4 games, so he will be looking to get his tally going again. Of course we all know Lampard will be with them, whether he starts or not, I do not know. Personally I think we should ignore him until after the match and then, depending on his involvement, chant his name. City have had a weeks rest from the last match which was the loss to Middlesbrough in the FA cup. They will be looking to right the wrongs of that as soon as possible. Manchester City have the best away record and us the best home record in the league. Something has to give tonight, lets hope we come out with the right result.
