5. Nick Fairley, DT, Detroit Lions
4. Terrance Knighton, DT, Denver Broncos
3. Darrelle Revis, CB, New England Patriots
Two years removed from ACL surgery Darrelle Revis looks like the shut down corner he used to be. This season he helped the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl. Revis is one of the best corners in the league. The real question is could the Bears sign him. Tim Jennings may not be the answer at corner, so why not bring in a superstar like Revis. He would have impact not only on the defense, but also on second year CB Kyle Fuller. Fuller could really benefit from watching and practicing with Revis. Money could be an issue as Revis is seeking a pretty fat pay day, but the Bears could find a way to make it happen.
2. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Detroit Lions
Ndamukong Suh is one of the NFL’s most disruptive and productive defensive tackles. He can single-handedly impact a game by causing the offense to scheme around his play. Suh could really improve the Bears at the defensive tackle position. Current Bears player Willie young is a former teammate of Suh’s. He has been trying to recruit Suh to come play for the Bears. Willie Young and Ndamukong Suh, sounds pretty good to me.
1. Devin McCourty, Safety, New England Patriots
Devin McCourty is the Bears biggest free agent target this season. San Francisco 49ers free safety Eric Reid has seven interceptions in the last two seasons in Fangio’s defense. McCourty can provide even better range than Reid in the same system. Paring McCourty with Ryan Mundy would give the Bears a pretty good secondary. Something they haven’t had in a long, long time.
