Tripping: Spring Break Packing List

For those of us who are still in school, it’s almost time for spring break. As for the rest of you…it’s the perfect time to celebrate the arrival of spring by taking a little vacation! With that in mind, I’ve put together a spring break packing list, complete with all of my favorite vacation essentials for this sunny season…

A Sturdy Suitcase

A good travel bag or suitcase is a must for any getaway. I love all of our trunks from The Little Market. They come in blush, white and mint, and are perfect for springtime travel.

The Perfect Pair of Sunnies

A good pair of sunnies is a staple for a spring break getaway. Lately I’ve been wearing this pair from my Kohl’s line non-stop. The blush and gold combo is perfect for springtime, too.

A Stylish Set of Headphones

I never leave for a trip without throwing a set of headphones into my bag. I never know when I’ll be stuck in an airport, on a plane or in a car for longer than planned, so keeping a pair of headphones (and my phone, ipod, etc.) nearby is key. I love anything white and gold, so this pair from Frends is right up my alley.

Spring Sandals

Whenever I take a warm weather vacation I always pack a pair of flip flops (they don’t take up any room!) and a comfy pair of wedge sandals that I can wear with any outfit. These wedges from Lauren’s Kohl line go with everything. Plus, they’re an easy way to take an outfit from day to night.

A Chic Crossbody Bag

I’ve become a huge fan of the crossbody bag, especially for traveling. This is the one that I’ll be taking with me on my next trip for The Little Market. A small crossbody bag is perfect for traveling, sightseeing (you don’t want to get stuck with a huge, heavy bag on your shoulder all day) and for nights out.

Shop: Small Cream Ikat Satchel from The Little Market, $180

A Pair of Neutral Shorts

You’ll want to make sure that you pack a pair of neutral shorts that will go with any of the tops that you pack. This pretty lace pair (complete with scalloped edges) is perfect for your spring vacay.

A Springy Swimsuit

When taking off for a trip to somewhere warm, the number one must-have item in your suitcase is a cute swimsuit. I love the cutout and bow detail on this striped one-piece below.

A Big, Floppy Hat

Whenever I’m vacationing somewhere sunny, I always bring along a big floppy hat. We all know that too much sun can damage your skin,  so having a floppy hat that blocks the rays, keeps you cool and completes an outfit is the perfect solution.

Shop: Keep Cool Straw Sun Hat from Forever 21, $14.80

A Lightweight Sundress

A pretty sundress that can double as a swimsuit cover-up is an essential for any spring vacation. The pastel shades in this Paper Crown dress are on-trend for spring, too.

A Book That You Can’t Put Down

A good book is a must-have for any type of travel that I do. Whether I’m going somewhere for work or play, I always have a book on hand. Having a book that you can’t put down makes any day at the beach or pool that much better. Also, getting into a great book makes a long flight go by a lot faster. A few friends have recently read The Fault in Our Stars and loved it, so I’ll be bringing it along on my next trip.

Are you taking any spring trips this year?

Let me know where you’re going and what you’re packing in the comments.
